Chantal Organics Adzuki Beans, 400g
What are they?
Sweet and nutty, wholesome and pure tinned organic adzuki beans. These beans have a strong, nutty-sweet flavour.
Popular in Japan, they have a fudge-like consistency. Commonly used to make red bean paste. A staple of the macrobiotic diet, where they're referred to as the most 'yang' or warming of beans.
What are the nutritional benefits?
Adzuki beans are a great source of essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. They're packed with protein and fibre as well as manganese, potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron and more.
What will I love about them?
They are very versatile! You can use them to make sweet dishes such as brownies and they also make a tasty addition to savoury dishes such as soups and salads. Use them to make curries, vege burgers, hummus and more.
These beans come from New Zealand company Chantal Organics that was started in the mid-1970s in Hawkes Bay by a group of like-minded people. They shared a vision of healthier food and a better life for their families and now make spreads and muesli, mill grains into flour and farm vegetables. Their vision is that quality organic and whole foods are affordable for all Kiwis - just like Family Pantry!
