What is it?

An ancient grain popular for its nutritional content and a relative of durum wheat. 

What are the nutritional benefits?

Not gluten-free, but easily digestible. High in fibre, iron and manganese. Made from whole grain.

Where can I use it?

It is commonly used in bread making and to make pastas, crackers and biscuits. It can replace whole wheat flour or whole grain flour in most baking recipes. It has a complex flavour that lends a unique nutty flavour to baked goods.

Spelt has high water solubility, so its nutrients are easily absorbed by the body.
