Organic Brown Jasmine Rice

What is it?

Long-grain fragrant rice with silken grains, smooth and aromatic. This is a delicious brown rice which has a wonderful aroma and with a fluffy, slightly chewy, taste and a subtle, nutty flavour.

What are the nutritional benefits?

It's a wholegrain rice which is low in fat and sugar. Contains more fibre than white rice. Contains good source of minerals. Contains high levels of manganese, a trace mineral which helps to produce energy and selenium which helps to boost the immune system.

Any cooking recommendations?

A wonderful accompaniment to stir fries, Thai curries or as a side dish. To get the best results from cooking Jasmine rice well is to use minimal water, so that the rice is steamed rather than boiled. If you prefer to boil it, measure 1 1/2 cups water to 1 cup of rice and bring to the boil in a covered pot. Turn down heat to a simmer for about 20 minutes until the rice is cooked all the way through. Then gently fluff with a fork and cover the rest for another 5 minutes before serving. Either way Jasmine rice needs to be rinsed before cooking.
