Organic Buckwheat, hulled

What is it?

Hulled seeds of the buckwheat plant. Not related to wheat, it is a fruit seed related to rhubarb and sorrel. A naturally gluten-free nutritional wonder which has been used thousand of years in European and Asian diets.

What are the nutritional benefits?

Full of beneficial antioxidant flavonoids including rutin which may help protect against high cholesterol and heart disease. Contains all essential amino acids plus vital complex carbohydrates as well as iron, potassium, manganese, magnesium, calcium and plenty of dietary fibre.

Where can I use it?

Perfect in salads, soups and as a side dish. Prepare like rice or mill to make your own buckwheat flour. Can be used to create a delicious breakfast cereal. Use it to make noodles. Roasting buckwheat before cooking creates an earthier, nuttier taste and aroma. Add to home made granola.

Anything important?

Gluten free. Certified organic
